Not a very large museum, but if has lots of info about the area and its coal background. Also has a small cafe. Wheelchair accessible which is grear
Loads of activities and great friendly staff. Lovely peaceful surroundings too. Great for a coffee or tea.
Visited with our local school. Studying toys, old and new. Very well organised and lots of hands on activities for the children. Coffee and gift shop. Plenty of toilet facilities as you went to the different areas. Staff really good and friendly. Other topics covered were mining and WW2 and there is a nature reserve which I hope to visit on another occasion.
